P-16 Initiative Honored by Lewis & Clark

The UNO Service Learning Academy's P-16 Initiative, which has worked on dozens of community engagement projects pairing elementary, middle and high school students with students at UNO, was honored by Lewis & Clark Middle School as the 'Trailblazer of the Year' on Tuesday, May 8. P-16 has partnered with Lewis & Clark for several projects this year.

About Us

Voices Against Violence mission: To create a campus that promotes respectful relationships, free of violence.

The Voices Against Violence Task Force is in its fourth year at UNO. The task force consists of the following UNO campus departments and organizations:

  • Campus Security
  • Counseling Center
  • Gender and Women's Studies
  • Health, Physical Education and Recreation
  • Maverick PR / PRSSA
  • Multicultural Affairs
  • Student Health Services
  • Student Housing
  • Student Organizations and Leadership Programs
  • Social Work
  • Women's Resource Center

The Voices Against Violence Task Force is working in partnership with the Women’s Center for Advance (WCA, formerly YWCA) to create a comprehensive intervention and prevention program to address partner violence, sexual assault and stalking on campus.

Our Services

Voices Against Violence can be found in the UNO Counseling Center, Eppley Administration Building room 115. An advocate/educator is available to meet individually with students, faculty and staff, as well as provide educational presentations to classes or groups on campus. To set up an appointment or presentation, contact our advocate/educator at 402-554-2409.
